About The Position

The Associate Director/Director, Real-World Evidence (RWE) leads the Analytics function at T1D Exchange, supervising a small team responsible for real-world evidence and quality improvement (QI) analyses for the T1D Exchange Registry and the Quality Improvement Collaborative. In addition to people management, the Associate Director oversees the design and implementation of statistical analyses for applied research studies and helps establish analytic practices for the team. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced researcher who enjoys mentoring, collaborating with clinical and research partners, and translating complex data into actionable insights. The role contributes to publications, grants, and sponsored research projects that support improvements in T1D care.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, or a related field, with at least 5 years of relevant healthcare or research experience; PhD strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python for data management and statistical analysis.
  • Experience working with large, relational datasets.
  • Solid grounding in applied statistical methods commonly used in real-world and clinical research, such as: Linear and logistic regression Survival analysis Generalized linear models Longitudinal or repeated-measures analyses
  • Experience overseeing analyses from concept through dissemination, including collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to summarize and present analytic findings clearly in written and oral formats.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, data privacy requirements, and the IRB process.
  • Experience working with real-world healthcare data.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring analysts or junior researchers.
  • Awareness of type 1 diabetes, or willingness to learn.

  • Experience working with registries, claims, or EMR data.
  • Experience contributing to or leading grant-funded research projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation of study documents, reports, and scientific outputs, including abstracts, manuscripts, and conference presentations.
  • Ensure analytic results are clearly summarized and communicated for diverse audiences, including researchers, clinicians, funders, and collaborators.
  • Contribute to and uphold best practices for scientific reporting, documentation, and reproducibility across analytics projects.
  • Provide leadership for analytics, including prioritizing work, and aligning analytic approaches with research goals.
  • Ensure the quality, consistency, and timeliness of analytic deliverables produced by the team.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide training to analytics staff, supporting professional development and effective collaboration.
  • Develop and oversee statistical analysis plans for applied real-world and QI studies, using established and appropriate analytic methods.
  • Serve as the primary analytics point of contact for selected external collaborations, including partnerships with physicians, industry, nonprofits, and academic investigators.
  • Facilitate a cross-functional committee focused on data quality and standards in collaboration with physician co-chairs.
  • Serve as Principal Investigator on grant-funded and selected sponsored projects.
