Nocturnal On-Call Registered Nurse - Acute Dialysis

About The Position

This is a “nighttime on call” shift for urgent patient care coverage at hospital locations in Santa Clara and San Jose. This Registered Nurse will be expected to take care of Hemodialysis and Peritoneal dialysis patients in the evening and disinfection of machines as needed if there are no patients. The role aims to make a meaningful impact in acute care nephrology, providing dialysis care in a hospital setting for patients with end-stage renal disease and chronic kidney conditions. This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative role where the RN will work directly with patients in ICU, CCU, ED, and other acute care units.

Requirements

Current RN license in the state of practice
ADN required
Must pass a color vision test
Full vaccination against COVID-19 may be required by hospitals in this program, which may include a booster when eligible
Dialysis experience as a RN is required for this role
Prior ACUTE dialysis RN experience to be considered for this nocturnal role

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
ICU, CCU, ER, or Med/Surg experience helpful
CNN/CDN certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

Deliver inpatient dialysis therapies, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, CRRT, and apheresis
Collaborate with hospital teams and DaVita clinical staff
Monitor patients, adjust treatment, and ensure quality outcomes
Support and oversee patient care with the help of PCTs
Adapt quickly in a dynamic hospital environment
Take care of Hemodialysis and Peritoneal dialysis patients in the evening
Disinfection of machines as needed if there are no patients
