The University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC) is a Center of Excellence. As a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, there is a strong focus on research, with the overall mission to prevent and cure cancer. On the forefront of prevention, treatment, and research, our oncology services provide optimal and innovative clinical care for patients confronted with all types of cancers. From detection and diagnosis to treatment and bedside care, we work to make our patients' lives better, empowering them to become cancer survivors. With Clinical Scientists involved in over two hundred clinical trials, The University of Arizona Cancer Center encompasses three established scientific Research Programs that work together to accomplish the Center's mission to prevent and cure cancer: Cancer Biology, Cancer Prevention and Control, and Clinical and Translational Oncology. This enables the investigation of a broad spectrum of new diagnostic, prevention, and treatment strategies. As an Outpatient Oncology Staff Pharmacist, you are a valued contributor to the care of our patients, with a variety of pharmacy care responsibilities that range from centralized functions to decentralized/clinical opportunities to maximize medication therapy. You will focus on chemotherapy order verification, interacting with physicians and nurses, participating in departmental projects and initiatives, and supervising pharmacy technicians. As a pharmacist at a Center of Excellence in Oncology care, you will also have a significant role in ensuring safe and optimal therapies in the treatment of our cancer patients. You will enjoy an excellent campus culture of collaboration and support, with the total patient/customer experience as the top priority. This is a full-time day shift position with occasional Saturday and holiday coverage based on a rotating schedule. This position will be based on our University of Arizona Cancer Center location at 3838 N Campbell Avenue with occasional coverage at our 1891 W Orange Grove location.
