As an Acute Clinical Staff Pharmacist at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, you will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive, collaborative, and progressive pharmacy services to our smallest patients in the Level IV neonatal ICU pharmacy. Our clinical services include a multitude of specialties, including critical care, internal medicine, cardiology and research. Our robust operations and technologies include automated dispensing cabinets, automated carousel, and new sterile and non-sterile compounding rooms. NICU or pediatrics experience strongly preferred. This is a full-time evening shift position working seven 10-hour shifts per week from 12:00pm-10:30pm, Wednesday-Tuesday with a 7 day on 7 day off rotation. Enjoy a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable. Schedule subject to change based on business needs.

  • Processes medication orders and evaluates their appropriateness and completeness with respect to patient data including age, height, weight, diagnosis, laboratory values, and other pertinent patient information.
  • Utilizes clinical pharmacy skills to assess patient medication regimens and formulates recommendations to ensure optimal safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness for all prescribed medication therapies.
  • Complies with directives of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee/Clinical Consensus Group.
  • Drives their professional development through the utilization of BPS educational resources to achieve competence in the current and future BH acute pharmacy core clinical practices and activities.
  • Prepares and dispenses medications, including sterile or non-sterile compounded medications, in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with company policies and procedures and established regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, which may include management of technology, inventory management, and accurate record keeping.
  • Requires unrestricted Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice and a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Must have completed the Board of Pharmacy application process within 30 days of job offer if not licensed in the state of practice.
  • Must be licensed within 90 days of hire unless the delay is due to the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Banner Registry and Travel positions require a current and unrestricted Pharmacist license (not intern) at the time of hire and a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Must possess good organizational, problem solving, and computer skills.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and other contacts.
  • Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and Automated dispensing system.
  • Completion of an accredited pharmacy residency program or previous clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
