Reporting to the Director Health Services - Acute, the Acute Care Supervisor is actively engaged in providing leadership to staff to achieve the operational priorities of the service delivery organization (SDO) including but not limited to Financial Sustainability, Patient Flow, Patient Experience, Quality/Safety, Staff Engagement. The incumbent is accountable for providing regional professional nursing leadership and support to direct service employees within the Acute Care program. The Acute Care Supervisor, while on duty, is responsible for safe and effective clinical health services delivery and facility operations for a site/local geographical area when the health services leadership team is not available. While on duty, they will also be the first call for acute care sites in the region in the absence of the site or unit manager. The Acute Care Supervisor involves the appropriate On-Call Manager(s) as needed. The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters.
