About The Position

ECU Health Physicians, ECU Health Maynard Children’s Hospital, and ECU Health Community Hospitals are expanding and seeking an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their northeast regional market’s newborn hospitalist programs. Clinical care will be provided in community based hospitals located in Ahoskie and Roanoke Rapids, NC with support provided by the ECU Health’s Maynard Children’s Hospital in nearby Greenville, NC. New PNP-AC graduates are encouraged to apply. ECU Health’s Maynard Children’s Hospital is the only tertiary facility in eastern North Carolina designed especially for pediatric patients and includes ECMO and pediatric surgery programs. With its close proximity to the coast, affordable cost of living, and mild climate, eastern North Carolina offers an ideal location for both comfortable living and a healthy work-life balance. Roanoke Rapids is ideally located near beautiful Lake Gaston ideal for boating, fishing, and for soaking up all that lake front living entails. Highlights include: Employment by ECU Health Physicians Hospital privileges at ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, ECU Health North Hospital, & ECU Health’s Maynard Children’s Hospital at ECU Health Medical Center, located in nearby Greenville, NC Growing 9-hospital physician-led healthcare system Schedule includes (12)- 24 hour unrestricted call shifts at a community based hospital and 16 days off per month Clinical responsibilities when providing coverage at ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital & ECU Health North Hospital will include rounding and coordination of care from admission to discharge for all newborn patients and attendance all at risk deliveries and participation in the resuscitation, stabilization, and transfer of critically ill neonates as needed Provider will return to ECU Health’s Maynard Children’s Hospital quarterly for continued competency and skills maintenance with the newborn and NICU teams Transfer support provided by ECU Health Medical Center PALS, BLS, and NRP certifications are required Competitive Compensation and Comprehensive Benefits to include: Administrative Stipend, Relocation, PTO, Malpractice/Tail Coverage, 401k matching/457, Medical, Dental & Vision, Disability & Life Insurance. Job Requirements include: PNP-AC or Physician Assistant- (At least 2 years of NICU Experience for PA) NC RN licensure & NC Nurse Practitioner or NC licensure as a Physician Assistant National Board Certification as a Pediatric NP-AC or as PA required, including maintenance 2+ years of experience in health care setting Applicants will be required to have BLS certification from The American Heart Association ECU Health Physicians includes an academic practice model (ECU employment) and a community practice model (health system employment). There is shared leadership and shared services to support the overall group and to ensure alignment for clinical care, research, education and strategy. Requirements

  • PNP-AC or Physician Assistant- (At least 2 years of NICU Experience for PA)
  • NC RN licensure & NC Nurse Practitioner or NC licensure as a Physician Assistant
  • National Board Certification as a Pediatric NP-AC or as PA required, including maintenance
  • 2+ years of experience in health care setting
  • Applicants will be required to have BLS certification from The American Heart Association
  • PALS, BLS, and NRP certifications are required

Responsibilities
