About The Position

HealthWorks Rehabilitation and Fitness in Morgantown, WV has proudly served as Mon Health’s inpatient rehabilitation provider for more than 25 years. Our 188-bed inpatient hospital is seeking additional full-time Occupational Therapists to join our growing team. We offer a supportive, multidisciplinary environment with experienced clinicians who are well-prepared to mentor and guide new graduate Occupational Therapists during their hospital fieldwork rotations. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position that includes rotating weekend and holiday shifts shared among the therapy team. Position Summary Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient’s needs and physician direction. Responsible for the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional treatment programs, allowing for an effective return to community activities. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers, and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services, and design of program delivery. We provide advanced treatment and comprehensive care to best address the medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges for individuals with: Brain Injury Spinal Cord Injury Stroke Amputation Neurological Disorders Orthopedic Conditions Multiple Traumas

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school for occupational therapy
  • State Occupational Therapist license (or license eligible)
  • CPR certification
  • Valid state driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Stay current and up to date with Occupational Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
  • Enhance, develop and expand relationships with referral sources and maintain a positive level of interaction with centers and patients.
  • Develop objective patient goals and establish the type, frequency and duration of occupational therapy in collaboration with the referring physician.
  • Understand appropriate state Practice Act and adhere to the laws that govern how OTs may practice and whom they may supervise.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new programs or procedures with the approval of the manager and referring physicians per HIPPA guidelines.
  • Supervise and delegate occupational therapy care for each patient within the guidelines of state rules and federal regulations.
  • Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment programs and demonstrate completion of patient care responsibilities and documentation requirements in an appropriate and timely manner.
