About The Position
A reputable inpatient neurology and stroke care group in the McKinney area is hiring an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to support its Neuro Hospitalist team. This position offers a structured rotation, steady case variety, and meaningful collaboration with an experienced interdisciplinary staff.
Requirements
- Current Texas RN license and ACNP certification (required)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- At least 2 years of inpatient or hospital-based NP experience
- Strong assessment, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills
Nice To Haves
- Prior Neurology or Neuro-ICU experience
- NIH Stroke Scale or ENLS certification
- Comfort with EEG interpretation and neurological procedures
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct inpatient management for neurological and stroke patients in acute and critical-care settings.
- Conduct detailed neuro exams, document findings, and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
- Respond to code-stroke activations and coordinate rapid diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
- Partner with neurology, neurosurgery, and hospitalist teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families about care plans and recovery expectations.
- Participate in quality-improvement and clinical education efforts.
