Work Shift Day (United States of America) Wellstar is recruiting for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established and growing Neurosurgical practice. This position is a mix of clinic and in-patient rounding. Schedule is Monday - Friday, with a 1 in 6 weekend rotation In this role you will: Perform first OR assist duties approximately two days a week. Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient's medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail. Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care. Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings. Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications. Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery. Requirements

  • Must hold an ACNP or AG-ACNP certification or Physician Assistant
  • ACLS/BLS required
  • NIHSS and Modified Rankin certified

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Neurosurgery experience preferred
  • OR experience
