About The Position

The Acute Care Charge Nurse reports to the Acute Care Nursing Manager and ensures the delivery of professional care to the assigned patient population. The Charge Nurse utilizes the nursing process and continuous quality improvement principles while collaborating with the healthcare team. The Charge Nurse is responsible for supervising all department staff, assigning duties, and ensuring work meets standards for accuracy, organization, and policy compliance, overseeing the department's daily operations, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, providing backup support to the Emergency Department (ED) as needed, and ensuring the highest level of patient care is maintained at all times.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse License in California
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • A minimum of three (3) years nursing experience.
  • One (1) year of leadership experience.
  • Possess typing skills and general computer experience.
  • Possess skills in time management and organization.
  • Must have great interpersonal skills.
  • Possess verbal ability to understand oral and written instructions stated in medical terms and ability to communicate with and exchange information with hospital staff and patients

Responsibilities

  • Assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing Plans, organizes and directs all activities.
  • Is willing to work beyond normal schedule when necessary.
  • Maintains composure when confronted with job stress or emergency situations.
  • Responsible for optimal, cost effective staffing ratios and call off procedures. Monitors staff activity and productivity.
  • Communicates often, appropriately, and clearly to physicians, staff and administrative team.

Our program is operational from 7:45am to 5:15pm, Monday through Friday, and is approved for children aged 0 to 5 years.
