About The Position

Hartford Hospital is seeking a caring and dedicated Lymphedema Physical or Occupational Therapist skilled in evaluation and treatment of lymphatic disorders for it's acute care team.

Requirements

  • LANA certification in lymphedema therapy.
  • Experience or strong interest in lymphedema treatment, manual lymph drainage, bandaging, and compression garment management.
  • Graduate of Physical Therapy Program from an accredited American Physical Therapy Association school, BS, MS or Doctoral degree.
  • Active CT Physical Therapy license.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patient with lymphedema and create Plan of Care
  • Demonstrate competence in manual lymph drainage, multi-layer bandaging, compression garment selection and application
  • Provide patient and/or caregiver training for home program including MLD, bandaging as needed, application of compression garments, and skin care
  • Provide appropriate and safe exercise plan for patient with lymphedema, with modifications to functional ability
