About The Position

The acupuncturist performs all treatments and services in accordance with State of Minnesota acupuncture licensing requirements. Licensed Clinical Acupuncturist focusing initially on acupuncture only, participating with CIM team in driving other elements of Oriental Medicine to the practice as evidence-based research supports.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee.
• Active license to practice in Minnesota
• Graduate of an approved school of Oriental Medicine and/or Traditional Chinese Medicine accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM)
• Active status as a Diplomate in Acupuncture of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM)
• A minimum of three years experience in providing acupuncture services to the public
• Successful completion of an NCCAOM clean needle technique course in addition to the infection control education required of all members of the medical staff
• Informed consent must be obtained from every patient prior to the initiation of acupuncture treatment
• Quality Improvement activities will include but not be limited to regular review of the developed treatment plans, observation of procedural skills, and follow up of patient outcomes
• All QI activities will be consistent with Mayo Foundation policies reported to CIM team

Nice To Haves

• Maintain credentialing
• Continuing Medical Education: 30 hours over 2 year period specific to Oriental Medicine
• Volume: A minimum of 500 patients over a 2 year period
