About the position

As an Actuary at AXA XL, you will ensure that the construction primary product lines have market leading, technical pricing and portfolio management capabilities and be responsible for the delivery of those capabilities. You will provide decision making guidance throughout the entire underwriting process, through the use of advanced analytics, to drive excellent business performance. Your role will involve developing and leveraging product pricing methodologies aligned to global strategies, including pricing algorithms, pricing parameters, pricing change impact analysis, and advanced pricing techniques. You will support the development, testing, and calibration of pricing tools alongside the Models team, and engage in micro portfolio management activities such as selection of base loss ratio for business planning, profitability studies, dashboard maintenance, and post-event loss evaluations. Additionally, you will conduct deal-specific pricing, collateral requirements, captive/scheme/program pricing, and risk transfer testing, while ensuring compliance with Pricing Model Standards and maintaining required technical pricing documentation. You will also support reinsurance purchasing with data and analysis, providing guidance on net calculations for planning, limits reporting, reserving, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure market leading technical pricing and portfolio management capabilities.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience of non-life insurance pricing.
  • ACAS or FCAS Designation.
  • Outstanding influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Applied Math, Statistics, or related field.
  • Leadership skills to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Outstanding verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
