About The Position

Essen has won awards for its patient care innovations and recently launched Intention Health Ventures to develop and commercialize our technology innovations Job Summary: Essen Health Care has a posiition open for an Actuary Associate Level l who will be responsible for performing various actuarial functions, such as analysing data, developing and maintaining models, and preparing reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Math or related field is required
  • +3 years experience at health plans and/or providers
  • Experience at actuarial and/or analytics departments
  • Understand healthcare concepts, VBP, ACO REACH, Medicare, Medicaid, reconciliations, revenue cycles
  • Have previous working experience with healthcare data
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and express ideas to not technical people
  • Advanced skills in Excel and SQL, basic skills in SAS
  • Experience with reporting and data visualization

Responsibilities

  • Serves as project manager on medical initiatives, tracking medical and financial experience
  • Quantify the impact of the population, risk scores and rates changes, and savings impacts due to the medical initiatives
  • Perform trends analysis to understand the changes of the utilization and costs per units
  • Identify medical opportunities and provide programming/analysis/reporting for cohorts of members
  • Partner with Operations, Medical, IT and Business leaders to gather requirements and provide with analysis updates
