We are able to leverage deep institutional knowledge built up over 50 years of specialty underwriting and prudent capital management to expertly server out clients' needs. https://www.berkleyre.com/ Responsibilities The 2026 Summer Actuarial Intern will be responsible for the following: The person in this role will be part of a diverse team, majority of which are credentialed actuaries. The person in this role will utilize their effective communication and technical skills to support various actuarial functions of the organization and provide recommendations to stakeholders. The person in this role will gain hands-on experience as a reinsurance actuary, by working closely with a group of experience actuarial professionals. The person in this role will also have exposure to other functions of a reinsurance company, such as Underwriting, Reinsurance Accounting, Claims, etc. This internship program can be arranged between 10 to 12 weeks in the summer of 2026 .

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree or graduate degree in an actuarial science or related field of study
• Strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills
• Intellectual curiosity is crucial
• Interested in pursuing an actuarial career

Nice To Haves

• Completion of 1-2 SOA exams preferred

Responsibilities

• Work closely with underwriters and senior actuaries to analyze and price reinsurance submissions and provide recommendations.
• Participate in discussion with underwriters and senior management to help them understand the conclusions and the key assumptions built into the pricing analysis.
• Assist in developing, enhancing and managing pricing models.
• Assist in updating actuarial parameters through researching internal and external data sources.
