This position will work for BMS Re, the specialist reinsurance arm of BMS Group. BMS Re is reshaping reinsurance by aligning interests with our clients and enhancing their success with advice and delivery models that service their unique needs. BMS Re has a proven ability to execute in reinsurance and capital markets worldwide. BMS has an opportunity for an Actuarial Intern. As a member of the Actuarial team you would assist in providing highly professional actuarial services to brokers, clients and prospects in support of BMS’s corporate objectives.

  • Perform risk assessments.
  • Review accuracy of data and calculations.
  • Report and assist in interpreting results of actuarial data analysis.
  • Assist in the analysis of risk evaluation data, using appropriate models and statistical methods.
  • Create relevant charts and graphs.
  • Provide research data for other actuaries within the team.
  • Help convert data into actionable analyses and reports.
  • Perform data-modeling and provide results to other actuaries within the team.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university, preferably in Mathematics, Economics, Finance or a related field.
  • Some computer programming experience preferred (e.g. R, Python or VBA).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees with good interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with ability to meet deadlines and delegate, as appropriate.
  • Forward thinker and planner; proactive and uses initiative.
  • Adapt and respond well to change and pressure.
  • At least one actuarial exam completed.
  • Flexible and hybrid working policies.
