American National Insurance Company is offering a summer internship program designed to provide young professionals with corporate experience that is not offered in the classroom. Interns will support their respective departments while also having opportunities to attend professional development sessions, volunteer within the community, and participate in company-sponsored social events. The internship program runs from June 1st to August 7th, 2026, and is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours of work per week, Monday through Friday. Interns will be compensated hourly for their work.

  • Analyze results, test model changes, and assist with process improvements in Annuity Valuation.
  • Perform reserve recalculations in Excel to validate GGY-AXIS outputs in Quality Assurance.
  • Assist with model setup, onboarding, and automation of controls in Pension Risk Transfer.
  • Compile and process data, create new reports and controls, and automate current processes in Life Valuation.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited institution.
  • Must hold a Junior standing or higher (May 2026 grads are welcome).
  • Must possess a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Must be able to commit 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday.
  • Must be able to work onsite in the posted location of the role.
  • Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Access, Word) is a must.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Strong organization skills & attention to detail with high-level accuracy.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and balance changing priorities.
  • Completed actuarial-focused courses.
  • Obtained VEE credits.
  • Passed an actuarial exam.
  • Paid hourly internship.
  • Professional development sessions.
  • Community volunteer opportunities.
