Swiss Re Life & Health is seeking motivated undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing a career in actuarial science for their summer internship program. This program is designed to provide students with challenging work assignments and projects that not only enhance their educational experience but also promote personal and professional development. The internship will involve a variety of responsibilities that will allow students to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting, gaining valuable insights into the actuarial field. Interns will be responsible for assisting in the creation of pricing models, testing mortality table updates, and preparing and analyzing mortality and lapse experience data. They will also support quarterly valuations and earnings analysis, maintain the reserve valuation system, and create and maintain portfolio analysis tools and dashboards. These tasks will provide interns with hands-on experience in the actuarial processes and methodologies used in the industry. In addition to the essential responsibilities, interns will have ancillary responsibilities that include compliance with the Actuarial Development Program, which involves participation in student luncheons and other educational opportunities. Interns will also develop technical skills with various software and systems such as Visual Basic, AXIS, SQL, SAS, R, MSBI, Tableau, LMS, and Stargate. Furthermore, they will assist in responding to requests from clients, reinsurance partners, regulators, internal and external auditors, and rating agencies, which will enhance their communication and analytical skills.
