Requirements

  • 3-10 years experience in a P&C / General / Health insurance pricing role (as either a Pricing Actuary, Actuarial Consultant or Data Scientist etc.)
  • Fully qualified Actuarial credentials are preferred (but not obligatory).
  • A strong understanding of Data Science and Machine Learning techniques for predictive modeling.
  • Experience in actuarial data-driven predictive modeling (GLMs / GAMs) & risk analysis in a P&C / General insurance pricing role.
  • Ability to understand insurance business imperatives and establish solutions in accordance with them.
  • Strong communication skills to elaborate on complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Readiness to travel when required (approximately one week per month).
  • Fluent English.
  • Must be French, a permanent resident, or possess a relevant visa (or Passeport Talent) which allows you to work in an unrestricted manner from our Paris office.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert, assisting the sales team to find the best use cases for Akur8's software.
  • Work with the Product team to recommend new features that might benefit clients.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to explore new applications of machine learning in the insurance industry.
  • Lead product demonstrations to various audiences.
  • Oversee Akur8 proof of concept projects in an actuarial consultant type of role.
  • Conduct regular technical sessions to provide ad hoc modeling best practice guidance, technical training, and actuarial support.
  • Impact the design of product training and the improvement of model development.
  • Contribute to white papers and participate in/present at conferences to establish Akur8's leadership in the UK and EMEA markets.
