About The Position

As an Actuarial Consultant at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), you will provide expert consultation to clients regarding employee benefits program strategies. This role involves creating claim projections, conducting trend analysis, and preparing annual benefit plan renewals. You will also develop modeling tools to assist clients in making informed decisions about their benefit plans, while collaborating with the analytics and benefit team to integrate data analytics into various benefits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a similar field.
• In process of obtaining ASA designation.
• Exceptional analytical ability demonstrated through coursework and experience.
• Ability to form productive working relationships with team members and insurance carrier personnel.
• Energetic, self-directed, and committed with a strong work ethic.
• Adaptable and able to change priorities and multi-task to meet deadlines.
• Experience implementing new processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding client and company data.

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of at least one actuarial exam.
• ASA designation.
• Insurance license (required within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and virtual consultation with clients on employee benefits program strategies.
• Create claim projections and conduct trend analysis.
• Prepare annual benefit plan renewals and communicate with insurance carrier underwriting.
• Develop modeling tools and spreadsheets for client decision-making on benefit plans.
• Predict the pattern of IBNR reserves with greater accuracy and reduced variance.
• Collaborate with the analytics and benefit team to integrate data analytics with disability, life, and other benefits.
