About The Position

The Role The Actuarial Co-op will work with a team of actuaries and analysts to provide computations and analyses in support of reinsurance administration and risk management for the Fidelity Investments Life Insurance Company, a company with more than $40 billion in insurance liabilities and an integral part of one of the largest financial services firms in the US. We will work with you to develop your financial, business and analytical and communication skills. Career path for candidate leads to an exam-taking actuary on track to achieve the professional designation of Fellow in the Society of Actuaries. Requirements

  • You have familiarity with spreadsheet and database programs

Nice To Haves

  • Prior co-op or internship a plus
  • Mathematics, Actuarial Science or quantitative subject major preferred
  • Courses in business, accounting, finance or economics a plus
  • Having passed a Society of Actuaries exam a big plus

Responsibilities

  • Collecting and preparing net settlement amounts for self-administered reinsurance agreements
  • Determine amounts payable on life insurance death claims
  • Collecting and analyzing data in support of the company’s risk monitoring and risk management functions
  • Periodically report findings and results to various internal audiences
  • Manage project work to established timelines with periodic updates and proactive issue escalation/collaboration/resolution.
  • Continuous documentation and audit trail improvement
