About The Position

This role on the Actuarial Modeling Team will be responsible for building and modeling the business for specific purposes including planning, cash flow testing, risk metrics, GAAP reporting and reinsurance. The individual will learn how each product group contributes to the overall profitability of the total business. This is the entry level point for exam-taking students. Asset-Liability Prophet modeling for annual Asset Adequacy Testing (i.e. Cash Flow Testing, C3P1/2, AG-38, etc.) Understanding the interactions between Life insurance liabilities and the assets backing reserves Provide support to the actuarial modelling team in building models Create inputs and run models and summarize, analyze and validate model output results Assist in preparation of Change Management Memos (CMMs) for various model and assumption changes Support preparation of deliverables for internal and external auditors Communicate effectively with manager and other team members, and successfully collaborate with other departments and partners to achieve objectives Participate in the Actuarial Student Rotation Program

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or other related field
  • 1-3 actuarial exams
  • 1-5 years of actuarial experience; Prophet experience preferred
  • Solid oral and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Good time-management skills; ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Preferred experience with Excel, Word and database software and/or programming experience
  • Basic knowledge of insurance products and insurance company operations

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred actuarial internship(s) or one in a related field
