About The Position
As an Actuarial Analyst at Kemper, you will play a crucial role in performing intermediate analyses and providing actuarial support to produce financial results. This position is integral to the valuation processes and will require close collaboration with the VP Valuation, Chief Actuary, Director Modeling Actuary, Accounting, and Finance teams. Your contributions will help develop appropriate tools and procedures for reporting financial results, ensuring that the company meets its strategic goals. This role is ideal for someone pursuing actuarial accreditation (ASA, FSA) and looking to grow within a dynamic and innovative environment. In this position, you will be responsible for contributing to the monthly, quarterly, and annual valuation processes. You will deliver timely, accurate, and auditable reports for GAAP, Statutory, and Tax, as well as analyze financial trends and forecasts. Your ability to create clear documentation and notes supporting new processes will be essential. You will also identify opportunities to enhance analysis and improve efficiencies, assisting with the implementation of these improvements. Additionally, you will work closely with business partners to support the transition of external consultant valuation processes, management reporting, and analysis in-house. Monitoring product line profitability and assisting with internal and external audit requests will also be part of your responsibilities. Effective communication with management and team members is key, as is your commitment to developing your skills through continuing education opportunities. You will be expected to meet the expectations for Society of Actuaries (SOA) exam progress and adhere to internal and external compliance requirements. This role may also involve assisting management with any ad hoc requests that arise.
