About The Position

Actuarial Analyst II Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. The Actuarial Analyst II completes projects and performs complex actuarial studies. How You Will Make an Impact: Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Performs key actuarial functions related to cost of care, understanding impact of provider and govt regulation changes and special projects. Designs and completes special projects such as understanding changes in cost and utilization at a claim level Responsible for educating and making recommendations on changes in expense and utilization that impacts the profitability of the business Responsible to develop, maintain and analyze reporting to support special projects and share findings regularly with market and project leadership

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS degree and to have passed a minimum of three Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) actuarial exams and a minimum of 1 year related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical background in SQL, Python, R, or SAS for data manipulation and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI/Tableau, and actuarial software tools.
  • Experience working with large administrative claims datasets and healthcare cost/utilization metrics.
  • Ability to apply actuarial judgment and statistical techniques to interpret and explain complex trends
