About The Position

We are hiring for the ACTT Vocational Specialist position at RHA Health Services in Asheville, NC. This role is designed for positive and personable individuals who want to make a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as those facing mental health and substance use challenges. The specialist will provide support to individuals with Mental Health (MH) or Substance Abuse Issues in various settings including residential, school, workplace, and community. The interventions are strength-based, focusing on promoting recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills, and achieving the highest level of functioning in the community. The position requires a Qualified Professional (QP) status and involves supervision and direction to ensure quality services.

Requirements

  • Must meet the requirements of a Qualified Professional.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services field & 2+ years full-time experience with the population served.
  • Bachelor's degree (Not Human Services field) & 4+ years full-time experience with the population served.
  • Master's Degree or Higher & 1+ years full-time experience with the population served.
  • License, Provisional License, Certificate, Registration, or Permit issued by governing board regulating human service profession.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to individuals with mental health and/or substance use issues in home, school, workplace and community settings.
  • Assists individuals with living independently through strength-based interventions.
  • Facilitates relationships and serves as a link between individuals served, the company, family, guardians, local agencies, and the community.
  • Minimizes the negative effects of psychiatric symptoms or substance dependence that interfere with daily living and personal development.
  • Provides supportive counseling.
  • Supports clients in developing various skill-building activities, including daily living skills, socialization skills, adaptation skills, and behavior and anger management.
  • Performs case management functions of linking and arranging for services and referrals.
  • Works closely with other clinical/professional staff to maintain communication and provide feedback.
  • Standardizes procedures and expedites service implementation.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.
