About The Position

The Activity Therapist at University Behavioral Center is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through assessment, treatment planning, and group therapy within their specialty. This role involves conducting activity therapy assessments for both adult and adolescent patients in an acute psychiatric and detox facility, facilitating therapy groups, and documenting patient participation accurately. The therapist will utilize various modalities, including music and art therapy, to support the therapeutic needs of the patients.

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, recreational therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, music therapy, or psychology/social service with appropriate experience.
• One year of experience working in a psychiatric setting preferred.
• Current state license as a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Therapist preferred.
• Good overall interpersonal skills and professionalism.
• Ability to function well as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
