About The Position

Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health is looking for an Activity Therapist for PRN positions. Serving as a member of the interdisciplinary team, the therapist will provide therapeutic activity services to adult and adolescent patients under the hospital’s care for emotional or substance abuse problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, occupational therapy) preferred.
• One year of inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
• CPI/CPR certification required.
• Assessment, evaluation, and interpretation skills.
• Knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment.
• Flexibility, time management, and organization skills.
• Teaching or training skills helpful.
• Understanding of DSM-5 methodology.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic activity services to patients in an inpatient setting.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient care.
• Assess and evaluate patients' needs and progress.
• Implement and adapt therapeutic activities based on patient requirements.
