About The Position

Palm Point Behavioral Health is a 74-bed behavioral health hospital located in Titusville, Florida, minutes from Cape Canaveral. Palm Point Behavioral Health treats adults, children, and adolescents that suffer from a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses including depression, anxiety, and substance abuse in a modern and well-appointed facility. Palm Point Behavioral Health offers inpatient treatment options and serves communities in Brevard County and beyond. Titusville, located on Florida's Space Coast, is approximately 30 miles north of historic Cocoa Beach and 40 miles east of Orlando's famous theme parks. Palm Point is currently recruiting for an Activity Therapist. The Activity Therapist conducts the activities of activity therapy in order to improve functioning and independence and to provide activity resources and opportunities for all patients with a focus on improving health and well-being.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, OR Bachelor's Degree in associated discipline with Certified Recreation Therapist (CTRS) certification.
• Licensure/Certification: Registered Art Therapist, Certified Music Therapist, Registered Occupational Therapist, Registered Physical Therapist, Certified Recreation Therapist, Certified Yoga Instructor.
• Two (2) years' experience providing Activity Therapy.
• Prefer minimum of two (2) years in a psychiatric setting with children, adolescents, and adult population.

Responsibilities

• Conduct activities assessments on patients.
• Conduct therapeutic activity groups.
• Maintain the health and safety of patients.
• Complete and document evaluations of progress.
• Participate in treatment team.
