About The Position

HRI Hospital is seeking an Activity Therapist for our inpatient psychiatric units. This is a highly satisfying opportunity for a clinical professional who thrives on providing highly individualized care to a very acute patient population. This is a full time, 40 hour per week position with a Wednesday - Sunday schedule. HRI Hospital is a 66-bed psychiatric facility with adult inpatient services and several partial hospitalization programs. Requirements

• Master’s in human services related field required. Art Therapy, Music Therapy or other expressive therapy specialty preferred.
• OR Bachelor's degree + MT-BC
• License: LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, or OT preferred
• One year prior inpatient clinical experience preferred.
• Six months prior experience as a group leader preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run assigned treatment groups to meet the need of various functioning level and/or diagnostic categories
• Utilize interviewing techniques, observations, formal and informal screening/evaluation tools to assess functional level of patients
• Identify patients’ assets and problem areas
• Collaborate with patients in goal-setting
• Recommend appropriate activities for goal attainment and assist patients to select appropriate groups and activities
• Complete daily notes for each group
