About The Position
New York Edge is the largest provider of after school and community school programs in all five boroughs of New York City and Wyandanch, Long Island. With more than 25,000 students in grades K-12, New York Edge bridges the opportunity gap faced by students in underinvested communities by strengthening academic performance, health and wellness, self-confidence, and leadership skills for success in life. SUMMARY Extended Day Activity Instructors play a vital role in delivering engaging, high-quality after-school programming for children and teens across New York Edge program sites. In this role, you will lead or co-lead activities in areas such as STEM, visual and performing arts, literacy, student leadership, sports, health and wellness, business and entrepreneurship, media arts, journalism, urban agriculture, and more. This position offers a unique opportunity to both teach and inspire—supporting curriculum development while creating meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. Activity Instructors collaborate closely with the Curriculum & Instruction team and Program Directors to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- College credits preferred
- Experience with youth preferred
