Elite Home Care, Day Centers & Transportation is looking for a compassionate and energetic Member Assistant to join our team in Charleston, SC! Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with young adult disabled individuals
- Must be dependable with reliable transportation and/or a valid driver’s license
- CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with outgoing personality
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Clean background check and drug test
- Physically able to assist members with personal care tasks (toileting, ambulation, feeding, etc)
Responsibilities
- Assist the Activity Director in implementing engaging activities, including arts, crafts, exercise, spiritual, music, games, & life skills
- Provide hands-on personal care (ADL assistance) to members when needed, including feeding, toileting, ambulation and transfers
- Foster a positive and interactive environment by engaging with members and their families
- Set up and clean activity areas to ensure a safe and organized space.
- Assist members with activities and encourage participation
- Redirect behaviors as needed to promote a supportive atmosphere, promote member independence in a positive manner
- Monitor and document any changes in client behavior or health, reporting to the RN Administrator.
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
