About The Position

This position works directly with the Guest Experience Manager for all properties in Cape May, NJ. As a Guest Activities Coordinator, this position is responsible for implementing initiatives as defined by the Programming Team including but not limited to coordination and leading at Childrens’ programming activities, crafts, and games, and supervising part-time seasonal programming support staff including the company mascot, as well as assisting at adult programming activities as necessary.

Requirements

  • Any training and/or experience working with school age children is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 1 - 2 years of experience in hospitality
  • Basic activity planning & execution experience
  • Basic knowledge of Cape May and the Cape Resorts properties a plus
  • Proficient or basic understanding of software (Microsoft Office)
  • Enthusiasm and passion for working with children is a must.
  • Knowledge of Kids’ trends and interests.
  • Creative, imaginative, and enthusiastic.
  • Good organization and planning skills – detail oriented.
  • Ability to converse with guests and provide information in a friendly manner.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, comfortable leading a group.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects daily.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail and eye for aesthetics.
  • Must be punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to solve problems and think quickly in situations.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Guest Experience Manager in developing and leading annual Childrens’ programming for Cape Resorts which includes the planning, execution, and organization of activities, crafts, and games.
  • Leads and supports seasonal resort fee programming initiatives including our Spring and Fall break Cape Resorts Explorers Club, Holiday programming at Winter Wonderland, daily Kids’ Summer Programming, and assists and supports off-season adult programming.
  • Acts on behalf of the Programming Team as a Host and guides groups of children in activities, crafts, and games, while upholding the high standard of guest experience that Cape Resorts is known for.
  • Supports Programming Team in being idea generators and implementors of creative Kids’ experiences.
  • Leads on day-of activities and participates where most needed.
  • Oversees set up and break down of activities.
  • Manages inventory and organization of all supplies for activities, including purchase order requests.
  • In collaboration with the Guest Experience Manager, supervises and directs assigned staff.
  • Manages attendance records, reservations, collects payments, and ensures appropriate accounting for necessary activities.
  • Resolves any issues, complaints, and/or problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Manages and escorts the company Mascot, Blue the Pig, at all events they must be present.
  • Represents Cape Resorts/Congress Hall in a positive light by expressing enthusiasm, energy and positive vibes within the organization and consistently upholds the company ethics and values.
