About The Position

As our Activity Assistant, you’ll support the Life Enrichment Director in planning and leading engaging, therapeutic, and inclusive activities that enrich the lives of seniors in our assisted living community. At Legacy Oaks of Sacramento, we’re looking for a vibrant and energetic Activity Assistant to help us bring meaning and fun to each day for our amazing residents.

Requirements

• A warm, positive attitude and genuine love for working with older adults
• Great communication and organizational skills
• A team player with creativity and flexibility
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
• Must be at least 18 years old
• TB test, First Aid & CPR certification (as required by the State)
• Fingerprint clearance and background check
• LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement & LIC 503 Health Screening Report
• Ability to read, write, and speak English

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a similar setting
• Know how to lead a chair exercise, host a killer BINGO session, or DJ a dance party
• Love decorating for themed events and holidays
• Enjoy helping others express themselves creatively

Responsibilities

• Help design and deliver a dynamic monthly activity calendar
• Lead fun and purposeful activities: arts & crafts, games, music, movement, and more
• Provide one-on-one interactions for residents unable to attend group events
• Collaborate with other departments on community-wide events and holiday celebrations
• Assist with outings and special events to keep life exciting and active
• Maintain participation records and report resident observations
• Keep activity supplies organized and ready to go
• Support volunteers and contribute creative ideas to enhance our program
