About The Position

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of older adults? Join us as a Recreational Aide at Huron Valley PACE, where every day brings opportunities to inspire joy, connection, and engagement. You’ll help design and deliver meaningful activities that support the social, emotional, and physical well-being of participants. From planning group events to offering one-on-one support, you’ll play an important role in building a vibrant community where participants feel valued, supported, and connected. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain if not already certified within 6 months of employment).
  • Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with older adults, frail, or elderly populations, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience facilitating recreational, therapeutic, or activity programs in a senior living, adult day center, or healthcare setting.
  • Prior experience working with individuals living with dementia or cognitive impairments in a memory care or similar environment.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for designing meaningful, person-centered activities that support engagement and well-being.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

  • Create Joyful Experiences – Assist in planning and leading recreational and therapeutic activities like crafts, games, music, and exercise tailored to participants’ abilities and interests.
  • Keep the Fun Flowing – Support daily programs, help organize monthly event calendars, and join participants on community outings and special events.
  • Build Connections – Foster a welcoming, supportive environment that encourages social engagement, friendships, and a sense of belonging.
  • Specialized Support – Assist with dementia-friendly activities that promote comfort, engagement, and well-being.
  • Stay Organized – Set up and clean activity areas, manage supplies, and document attendance and participation in activities.
  • Collaborate & Care – Work with the care team, share observations, and contribute to maintaining a vibrant, person-centered environment.
