About The Position

The Activity Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals by organizing and facilitating engaging recreational and social activities. The Activity Assistant collaborates closely with other team members to plan, implement, and adapt activities that meet the diverse needs and interests of the community served. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a caregiving, recreational, or educational support role.
  • Basic knowledge of activity planning and implementation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with varying physical and cognitive abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Experience working in healthcare, senior living, or community center environments.
  • Training or coursework in recreational therapy, social work, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in using technology to support activity planning and documentation.
  • Bilingual abilities to better serve diverse communities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and lead a variety of recreational, educational, and social activities tailored to the interests and abilities of participants.
  • Assist participants in engaging with activities safely and effectively, providing support and encouragement as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for all activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make adjustments to improve participant engagement.
  • Document participant progress and activity outcomes, communicating relevant information to supervisors and team members.
