About The Position

This position helps plan, design, coordinate, and deliver meaningful recreational and social programs for residents of the North Dakota Veterans Home. This role works closely with the Activities Director to ensure a variety of programs are available that promote wellness, engagement, and quality of life. This position typically works Monday-Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with occasional weekend and holiday coverage. Some flexibility may be required to support activities and resident events.

Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required; Medication Technician certification preferred
• Experience working with older adults or in a healthcare setting is helpful
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
• Ability to plan, organize, and support group and individual activities
• Ability to maintain required documentation and follow established procedures
• Preferably able to safely operate a bus or similar vehicle

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a variety of scheduled program activities and events
• Help adapt activities to meet individual needs and abilities
• Assist with gathering supplies, preparing materials, and setting up activities
• Complete required documentation for participation and resident care plans
• Communicate with team members and support coordination with other departments
• Maintain activity spaces and equipment
• Safely operate wheelchair lifts and activity-related equipment
• May assist with transportation and facility vehicles (CDL preferred)
