About The Position

As an Activity Assistant, you will play a meaningful role in enriching the lives of residents by helping create a vibrant, engaging activities program. Working alongside the Activity Director, you will help design and lead experiences that support each resident’s interests and overall well-being—physically, mentally, and socially. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to adapt, solve problems, and think on your feet
  • A genuine passion for working with seniors and enhancing their quality of life

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a long-term care setting (preferred, but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Help plan and lead fun, engaging activities for individuals and groups of all sizes
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members
  • Support the creation and upkeep of monthly activity calendars and attendance records
  • Encourage residents to participate in hobbies, crafts, games, and other meaningful activities
  • Assist with special events, outings, and transportation arrangements
  • Help ensure activities meet residents’ unique needs and preferences
  • Contribute to care planning, resident assessments, and progress notes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming activity space
  • Collaborate with the team to continuously improve program quality
