Learn more at: https://www.well-springsolutions.org/ Position Summary The Memory Care Activity Assistant assists with the planning and implementation of engaging activities within the Adult Day Services program to support participants’ emotional, cognitive, and social well-being.

Requirements

  • Two years of post-secondary education from an accredited institution OR High school diploma (or equivalent) with a combined minimum of five years of experience and training working with elderly individuals or adults with disabilities
  • Minimum of one year of experience caring for impaired adults and assisting with activity planning and implementation
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Positive, creative, flexible, and outgoing approach

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing daily activity programming
  • Participate in staff meetings to coordinate activity planning
  • Lead activities appropriate to participant skills and interests
  • Develop and maintain activity outlines
  • Request program supplies and materials as needed
  • Keep supply closets and cabinets clean, neat, and organized
  • Incorporate seasonal and age-appropriate materials and projects
  • Provide one-on-one interaction with participants
  • Assist with maintaining the environment, including light housekeeping
  • Support meal service and ensure dining and kitchen areas are cleaned after meals
  • Greet participants and families professionally in the morning and/or afternoon
  • Communicate caregiver messages appropriately
