About The Position

St. Luke’s Home includes an 88-bed long-term, skilled nursing facility where residents receive 24-hour skilled nursing care; IV therapy; wound care and post-surgical care; respite care; nutritional therapy; and peritoneal dialysis. The geriatric psychiatric unit houses up to 20 residents. St. Luke’s Home exists to demonstrate the compassion of God by providing quality care that enhances the dignity and respect of each person we serve. This ad is for a part-time, 24 hours per week, evening shift position working from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Part-time employees (less than 30 hours per week) are eligible for some, but not all benefits offered. Rotating weekends and holidays are required. Retention bonus available to qualified new employees. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Encouraging positive social exchange among residents, promotion of residents’ rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality. Assisting Activity Director in planning and organizing activities, transporting residents to activities, and presenting programs in small groups or individual settings. Participating in meetings, responding to management direction, restocking equipment or supplies used for activities, and ensuring equipment is functional.

Requirements

  • Active CNA certification (recommended) verifiable by the ND Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with residents and teammates.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age and able to follow written and verbal direction.
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
  • Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously, independently, and have the flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, teammates, and support agencies.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.

  • CNA certification and related work experience preferred.
