This is a non-exempt position responsible for providing direct care and supervision of the participants, planning and implementing recreational activities, and coordinating food service. The Activity Aid must be able to plan a wide range of activities that are age appropriate and that meet the needs of the various functioning levels of the participants. This position works in conjunction with other positions at the program using a multidisciplinary approach for the provision of services. All duties and responsibilities must be completed in accordance with agency policy and procedures, Areawide Council on Aging of Broward County, Adult Care Food Program, Broward Meals on Wheels, federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards, and other regulatory guidelines. Incumbent in this position demonstrates sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
