About The Position

The Activities Aide position is designed to meet the social, psychosocial, and therapeutic needs of nursing home residents. The role involves the ongoing development and implementation of an activities program, assisting the Director in planning and executing recreational and structured group activities. This position requires personal contact with a diverse resident population and a varied work schedule. The center, Bourbonnais Terrace, is a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility (SMHRF) with a focus on recovery and rehabilitation.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year of experience working with the elderly and the physically and/or mentally impaired in an Activity Department, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred.
• Valid Driver's License and must be 25 years old or older.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an activities program for nursing home residents.
• Assist the Director in planning and executing recreational and structured group activities.
• Engage with residents on a personal level to meet their social and therapeutic needs.
