About The Position

As an Activities Manager, you’ll oversee, plan, and coordinate all activity programming on your assigned unit. You’ll manage a small, dedicated team and work closely with nursing, dining, therapy, volunteers, and families to ensure our residents experience meaningful, person-centered engagement every day. You’ll balance hands-on creativity with leadership — designing calendars, facilitating special events, managing volunteers, and ensuring compliance with regulations — all while fostering a positive, inclusive environment where residents feel valued and inspired.

Requirements

  • You have a heart for seniors and believe in the power of meaningful engagement.
  • You bring at least 2 years of experience leading group activities — ideally in long-term care or senior living.
  • You’re a motivated leader and team builder who inspires creativity and collaboration.
  • You communicate clearly, listen compassionately, and handle situations with diplomacy and care.
  • You’re organized, flexible, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • You bring knowledge of Washington State skilled nursing activity assistant regulations and documentation requirements.
  • You value laughter, patience, and connection even on the busiest days.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs that promote social, emotional, and physical well-being.
  • Supervise, coach, and train activity staff on your assigned unit.
  • Manage staff scheduling and approve payroll for your team.
  • Develop and document individualized activity care plans and progress notes.
  • Coordinate with volunteers, entertainers, and community partners for special events.
  • Oversee programs such as Music & Memory, Eversound, IN2L, Pet Therapy, and Intergenerational Programs (IGP).
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal activity regulations.
  • Support resident safety and comfort, assisting in dining rooms or resident transport as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Health Services Administrator to manage department budgets and goals.
  • Maintain an atmosphere of warmth, enthusiasm, and inclusion for residents and families.
