About The Position

Under general supervision, oversees a group of recreation leaders daily as well as provide bike education to all city of Chicago residents. Is the point person with daily tasks and travel.

Requirements

• Associate of Arts degree in recreation, leisure studies, physical education or related field, supplemented by five years of instructional, practical or sanctioned competitive experience in a specialty area.
• Ability to work with individuals and groups of children from ages 3 years old and older
• Intermediate/advanced knowledge of bike education including safety, awareness, and maintenance.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead others and enforce safety rules
• Ability to lead in large group presentations and other daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Travels to different parts of the city to provide assistance with presentations in bike safety and awareness.
• Provides one-on-one lessons for the Learn to Ride series.
• Assist in Chicago Park District and Chicago Department of Transportation events.
