Requirements

  • Proven experience in activity planning, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with residents and staff.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging activities and outings.
  • Ability to research and evaluate various options for trips and events.
  • Proficiency in using basic computer software and programs, including word, excel and newsletter creation. Must be proficient in the use of current everyday personal and workplace technology. Ie; Smart Phones, Ipads, laptops.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and risk management related to community activities and outings.
  • High School Diploma required. College prefered.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ related experience
  • Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Microsoft Office platform proficiency is required.
  • Scheduling flexibility with the possibility of evening and/or weekend attendance necessary.
  • Clean RMV record, active drivers license and ability to pass a background check required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the senior population preferred.
  • CDL license a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with residents to develop and implement a variety of activities that cater to diverse interests and preferences.
  • Coordinate the scheduling, planning, and administration of trips to malls, historical sites, visitor attractions, cultural events, and other outings.
  • Research and select appropriate sites, hotels, restaurants, and transportation options for each outside trips.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to coordinate room usage for activities and events, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Produce and distribute the monthly activity calendar and newsletter, The Villager, to keep residents informed and engaged.
  • Oversee the marketing, advertising, and communication of activities through newsletters, flyers, sign-up books, and other channels to maximize participation for all resident activities.
  • Monitor bulletin boards, display cases, and other communication platforms to promote upcoming activities and foster community engagement.
