About The Position

Under the supervision and/or direction of the Nurse Manager, the Activities Director will provide an organized ongoing program of meaningful activities to the needs and interests of each resident.

Requirements

• NCTRC Certified, or ability to become certified within six months of hire.
• Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least one year experience.
• NYS Driver License required
• current in CPR preferred
• must possess computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Ability to plan, schedule, provide and evaluate activities and recreational therapy to meet individual interest of patients with ability to document each part of the process.
• Ability to maintain physical, mental and emotional well being of patients using variety of techniques (e.g. arts & crafts, dance, sports, games, animals, relaxation techniques, etc.).
• Ability to collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement care plan.
• Ability to assist with recovery of basic motor function via recreational activities.
• Ability to complete daily activities, compile reports, and provide staff inservices.
