About The Position

NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans. Activities Director Full-Time Do you have a passion for developing and running activity programs for seniors? Come put your experience and enthusiasm to work with us. As Activities Director, you will have a direct impact on the lives of individuals in the Adult Day Health program.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree, or higher, in Recreation, Activity Therapy, or a related social or behavioral science
  • NCCAP (National Certification Council for Activities Professionals) or NCTRC (National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification) required
  • CPR and First Aid, as required by state regulations
  • All state-required training and certification completed in mandated timeframes
  • 3 years of experience in the coordination of an activities program within a social or recreational setting, with 1 or more years providing activity programs and services to a population with special needs, preferably the elderly
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement therapeutic, social, recreational, and educational activity programs for the Adult Day Health (“ADH”) individuals served
  • Ensure that activity programs meet the needs of each person according to their individualized plan of care
  • Document each individual’s participation, pertinent changes, and progress
  • Participate in the review of each individual’s care plan
  • Provide ongoing assessment of the individual’s physical and psychological status
  • Direct and supervise assigned ADH staff members
  • Plan and schedule activities and social events for the ADH individuals
  • Develop monthly calendars of activities and events
  • Coordinate recreational activities and outings
  • Develop and implement educational programs for ADH individuals and staff members
  • Evaluate appropriateness and effectiveness of activities for individuals and groups
  • Supervise assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, training, and ongoing support; make recommendations for decisions related to employment; resolve employee problems within position responsibilities
