About the Role The Activities Specialist is the go-to for planning and delivering engaging individual and group activities designed to meet the diverse needs of our skilled nursing residents.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Positive attitude, creativity, and strong interpersonal skills
Compassion for and interest in working with the geriatric population
Reliable transportation to and from work

Nice To Haves

Previous activities experience in a geriatric facility preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Assist in carrying out activity programs that support residents' physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being
Identify and support resident activity preferences, routines, interests, and personal choices
Facilitate individual and group activities under the direction of the Activities Director
Adapt activities to match residents' functional and cognitive abilities using task segmentation, verbal prompts, demonstrations, and hands-on assistance
Encourage resident participation while fostering dignity, choice, and independence
Maintain and clean activity equipment and supplies
Keep activity spaces clean, organized, and welcoming
