About The Position

Signature HealthCARE of Erin is a 164-bed facility with the largest therapy department in the area. We have a rehab to home program for our short term patients and help maintain the functional level of our long term care residents. The Activities Director will make a difference in the lives of our residents by planning, organizing, and directing a wide variety of activities that promote social, spiritual, and psychological needs. This role includes coordinating assistance for residents during activities and events, providing in-room activities for those unable to attend, and creating an ongoing calendar of activities that meets the diverse needs of residents.

Requirements

  • Degree and certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist; or
  • Certified Activity Director by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals; or
  • Two (2) years experience in a social or recreational program within the past five (5) years, with one (1) year full time in a resident activities program in a health care setting; or
  • Prior completion of a state approved training course.
  • One (1) to two (2) years management/supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct a variety of activities for residents.
  • Coordinate and verify assistance for residents during activities and events.
  • Provide in-room activities for residents unable to attend daily events.
  • Create an ongoing calendar of activities that is accessible and appealing to all residents.
