The Activities Coordinator plans, leads, and oversees a dynamic activities program that supports the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. You’ll combine creativity and organization to deliver engaging programs while leading a small, supportive team of Activity Assistants.

Requirements

  • At least a High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Experience in long term care for the elderly, preferred
  • Previous experience in planning activities with financial responsibility
  • Current BLS/AED certification or the commitment to obtain
  • A creative mindset with strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Comfort leading activities with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, internet)

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead engaging recreational, therapeutic, and social activities tailored to residents of all abilities
  • Foster inclusion, connection, and emotional well-being through group and one-on-one experiences
  • Supervise, coach, and support two Activity Assistants, volunteers, and interns
  • Create and manage a monthly activities calendar, including events, outings, and celebrations
  • Coordinate budgets, documentation, and program logistics with strong attention to detail
  • Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary teams to support resident care plans
  • Track participation, document outcomes, and share insights on resident engagement
  • Safely transport residents to outings and events
  • Contribute stories and highlights to the community newsletter, celebrating resident achievements
