About The Position

Join the Sagewood Team as Our Next Activities Coordinator! Location: Sagewood - Phoenix, AZ Position: Full-time Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Compensation: $19.00/hour Why Sagewood? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to bring our community to life. As the Community Life Service Activities Coordinator, you are responsible for assisting the Director of Community Life Services with the overall planning and implementation of varied events, activities, classes and more within Sagewood Independent Living.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree or related field preferred
  • One year experience in a social or recreational program preferred
  • Experience in event coordination preferred
  • Experience in geriatrics, recreation or social administration preferred
  • Must be proficient with computer, MS-Word, Outlook, Excel, Google and other office equipment
  • Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting for 60% of workday.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and coordinating activities and events, discussions groups & clubs, cultural activities, religion services, special entertainment, off-property trips, special events, in-house movies, instructional courses, such as arts & crafts, seminars, workshops, presentations; Active Aging week, health & fitness activities, marketing events, holidays parties; etc.
  • May assist with preparing and distributing the monthly calendar, weekly reminder, event flyers and newsletter.
  • Assist with purchasing supplies for activities as needed.
  • Maintain tracking of residents' trainings and introductions to digital resources
  • Primarily responsibility over performance venue A/V and tech set ups
  • Primarily responsibility in setting and striking events, activities, classes, etc.
  • Assist with data entry and resident education for our resident portal, Uniguest / Touchtown
  • Flexibility of hours-may occasionally require flex schedule or evening hours
  • Acts as back up on IT support request of residents
  • Attend in-service training and education sessions, online education as assigned
  • Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by Director of Community Life Services
